These terms apply to using this website. They are about the website — Tanner’s work for a client is governed by whatever agreement he and that client sign, not by this page.
What the information here is
General information about buying, selling and owning property in this area, written to be useful before somebody has an agent. It is not legal, tax, insurance, engineering, flood, lending or investment advice, and reading it does not make anybody a client.
Rules and figures change, and pages describe the position when they were written. Where something matters to a decision, check the current position with the authority that sets it — several pages link straight to those sources for that reason.
Property listings
Listing information comes from the multiple listing service through a licensed feed. It is not guaranteed accurate and it is not always current: listings change and sell faster than any feed updates. Verify anything you intend to rely on, and treat measurements, boundaries, flood information and rental figures as things to confirm rather than facts settled by a listing.
The listing pages carry the attribution and disclaimers the MLS requires. Those are not altered.
Using the site
- Use it for your own genuine property interest.
- Do not copy the listing data, scrape the site, or republish its content.
- Do not send anything through a form that you do not have the right to send.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the site or the systems behind it.
The writing, photographs and video on this site belong to Tanner or to whoever licensed them to him. Listing content belongs to the MLS and its participants.
Other websites
Links to other sites are there because they are useful — the towns, the state agencies, the federal flood maps. Linking to a site is not an endorsement of it, and what happens on it is not covered by these terms.
Availability, and where disputes are handled
The site is provided as it is. It may be unavailable, and parts of it depend on other companies’ systems.
North Carolina law governs these terms.
The limitation-of-liability, indemnity and dispute-resolution wording that normally sits in this section has deliberately not been drafted here. Those clauses decide what somebody gives up, and they are the attorney’s to write rather than something to fill in with a template.
